Methodist Tax Justice Network and Jubilee Debt Campaign, Birmingham,

Present: Tax & The Law

Thursday October 20th, 7:00-9:00pmBirmingham & Midland Institute, B3 3BS
Join us, and our keynote speaker, Professor Joanna Gray of Birmingham Law School, as we discuss how to bridge the gap between legality and morality when it comes to taxing corporations and wealthy individuals. Inspired by Dame Margaret Hodge's remark that when it comes to tax, 'morality should always trump legality', we want to gauge how far this holds true in the tax law and accountancy communities, and whether there is any way of implementing higher moral standards on tax as a corporate social responsibility issue. This event is aimed at those interested in economic justice and tax law/accountancy professionals, so discussion is encouraged.

Entry to this event is free, but donations are gratefully received. If you are interested in attending, please contact Matthew Jones atmtjncoordinator@gmail.com/0 7972194236.
